During the holidays the Early Years Project runs holiday schemes to
allow parents to work while their children are looked after all day.
Previous schemes have had various themes, during the Halloween holidays
last year a French theme was used and the children were introduced
to the French flag, sport, language, history and culture.
During other
schemes a wide variety of activities where enjoyed by children including
swimming, clay modeling, jewellery making, cookery, art, face painting,
puppet making and story telling. Drama is also a big part of the
schemes and this year the children where encouraged to write and
produce their own play. Day Trips also take place, in the past they
have included visits to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Windsor
Park football grounds and Belfast Castle.
